How does Case Split calculate each person's cost?
Every rarity in a case has a weight. Each participant's total weight is the sum of the weights of the cards they've claimed. Their share of the case cost is their total weight divided by the total assigned weight. Cards with a fixed per-card cost are billed at that fixed amount first, and the remainder of the case cost is split by weights.
Do I need an account to try it?
You can set up the game, rarities, and terms of a case without an account. You only need to sign in to save the case and invite other participants.
Can I invite friends who don't have accounts?
Yes. Admins can add participants as 'guests' — placeholder participants that can be assigned cards immediately. When you're ready, generate an invite link and bind it to that guest. When they sign up, the guest converts to their account and keeps all their assignments.
Is there a limit on the number of cards or participants?
There's no hard limit for typical case splits. We've tested cases with hundreds of cards and a dozen participants without issue.
Can I share a case with someone who isn't a participant?
Yes. In the case Settings tab, enable 'Public share' to generate a read-only link. Anyone with the URL can view the split without signing in. Turn it off to revoke the link.
Which games are supported?
Magic, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Disney Lorcana, Digimon, Gundam Card Game, Star Wars: Unlimited, Riftbound, and any other TCG you want to add manually. The game selector is only for defaults — you can override the rarity list on any case.
What if a rarity isn't in the default list?
Add it. The rarities panel supports arbitrary names and weights. If your game uses Alt Arts, Special Illustrations, or Full Art variants at different values, add each as its own rarity with its own weight.
How should I set the weights?
Weights are relative — only the ratio matters. A common starting point is baseline 1.0 for the middle rarity, ~0.3–0.5 for commons, and 1.5–2.0 for chase rarities. If a card has a well-known secondary-market price, use the fixed cost field instead of a weight so it's billed at that dollar amount before the pool is split.
Who can edit a case?
Only case admins can edit the cost, rarities, cards, and participants. Regular participants can claim or unclaim their own cards. This keeps the math honest without locking anyone out of their own picks.
What happens if we haven't assigned every card?
Unassigned cards contribute weight but no cost to anyone — they're excluded from the total assigned weight. The Split panel shows the unassigned weight so you know how much of the case is unallocated.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Email hello@casesplit.com from your account email and we'll remove your account, all cases you own, and personal identifiers within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How does Case Split make money?
The tool is free. We show display ads on public pages (guides, shared views, invite pages) and include affiliate links to TCGplayer. We never charge to create or open a case.
Do you take a cut of the case cost?
No. Payment happens directly between the participants — Case Split doesn't handle money.
